
Lamell was founded in 1898 by the sitalian count Ignazio Ferdinando Giuseppe Maria Franchini Di Maio count of Lamell, a great admirer of Heaveola's automobile.
In 1901, the Lamell 3HP "Sitaila" rolled of the production in the Torno factory. By 1910, Lamell had become the leading Sitalian manufacturer.
But a reduction in the build quality, a failed buyout of the Senglish automaker Montgomery brought the company in financial trouble in the late 80's.
Fortunately, a new CEO was elected in 1993, and the company started recovering its lost prestige.
