The Musashi was a long-running nameplate of low class cars produced from 1947 to 1979 by the sapanese automaker Yomoshoto Motor Corporation.
It had three generations, the first one produced from 1947 to 1951,
the second one that was produced until 1974, through four facelifts, and the third generation that made its debut in 1975,
known for being the worst Yomoshoto ever. The owner of Yomoshoto, SOIW (Sokkaido Iron Works) declared bankruptcy in 1967,
and Yomoshoto, without any solid financial base, was bought by the sapanese government.
Because of the lack of money and insufficient investments from the government, the original project of the Musashi Mk3 was abandoned in favor of a cheaper one,
that required the usage of parts from the other models of the lineup, and using the old and outdated platform of the Musashi Mk2, from 1951.
The Musashi Mk3 had a lot of reliability, durability and safety problems, such as the fixed steering column,
that caused the death by impalation of a senglish man in his Musashi Mk3, in 1978, during an accident with a Dover Duet.
The engines were an 1.2 I4 for the L trim level, an 1.4 I4 for the LX level, and 1.6 I4 for the ELX top trim.
The Musashi nameplate was finally dropped and discontinued in 1980, when the Oleg Mk1 made its debut on the market.
