Creator: Joint project between VPN and Lastinpurple (Original model by VoVillia) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Model Name: New Marin 1.4 HL Chassis type: Hatchback The New Marin is the next generation supermini launched by the DES Group, as a reminder of the old Marin launched in 1980. Dover's new management have decided to bring again this Senglish icon in order to prove that their turbulent times have passed away. After Declan Coffield Jr. left the DES Group in 1978, his three children took the business. They decided to give Dover a 180 degree turn: they broke their relationship with Escudo in 1982 and sold Montgomery in 1984. They wanted to make Dover a luxury car maker, in order to fit the new business-man market. While in the 1980's it didn't show many difference in their incomes, it proved to be a wrong strategy during the 1990's, and their sales dropped. In order to make their cars cheaper, they lowered the quality standards. But that made the Dovers terribly unreliable, so when the 2000's arrived, they were making big losses. In 2004, the New Management arrived, claiming to bring back the cheap and durable Dovers.
