Model Name: Aristea 103 "Speed"
Chassis type: Hatchback
The Aristea was a mid-low class family car produced by the east serman automaker VEB SNA from 1940 to 1972,
through four generations. This is the third generation of the car, produced from 1957 to 1968,
and it was the very first model designed by the young Zeno Reno.
The Aristea was available in hatchback (called "Speed"), sedan and station wagon version, called "Universal".
A convertible version was produced later, along with the Lagaun version.
The Aristea, adopted the same mechanical layout of the previous generation,
although SNA engineers improved the handling, the quality and the reliability.
The car featured a RWD layout, with the "Transaxle" scheme and a refined suspensions system,
called "De Dion Bridge" that emphasized its sporty attitude, especially in Lagaun versions.
The Aristea received a light facelift in 1968, making the debut of the fourth generation, the 104,
until it was discontinued in 1972, because its powertrain and its mechanical layout was impossible to update:
it was too old, outdated and unefficient, and it entered in the Simlish Guinness World Record in 1970 for being the oldest car still in production,
two years before its discontinuation.
