The NovAZ 478 is a full size executive car produced by the simoviet automaker NovAZ Avtozavod, since 1982.
Made to replace the old 476, the 478 is produced artigianally in very small numbers, and it is the only luxury car
produced in Simoviet Union, and the only car produced by NovAZ, known for producing heavy trucks and military vehicles.
Although the styling is completely unchanged since 1982, the 478 has been updated and improved continuously during
its production that still continues today. It is available only in two trim levels: the entry level that mounts a 3.0 v6 engine,
and the top trim that is fitted with a 4.0 v8 that lets the car reach the top speed of 220Km/h.
It is available also in station wagon version, called "Universal", and it is produced also in a lenghtened version, a
convertible, a limousine and an hearse version. It features air conditioning, heater, power steering (since 1996),
power windows and disk brakes on all the four wheels. It is the official state car of the Simoviet Union and it is largerly used as taxi cab too.
